Question: What about putting?
Answer: Honestly, putting is a pain in the 'A' on simulators so we've made it very simple and fair for everyone. We have turned on "automatic" putting. What this means is that once a player's ball is on the putting surface, an option to choose "how many putts" will come up on the screen. We rely on the honor system here!
- 12.0" and closer, a player should choose "1 putt."
- 12'1" and farther, a player should choose "2 putts."
(We know none of our players would ever 3 putt, so we just eliminated it completely!)
Question: How accurate is your machine?
Answer: The simulator we use is a Foresight GC2. This is the most accurate machine you can buy for indoor use! Yes, Trackman is used by the PGA Tour which is great for outdoor use, but it's not as realistic for indoor use.
Question: How 'real' is it?
This is "simulated" golf. Technology is making simulation more and more real every year, but this is meant to be fun and entertaining - not a replacement for 'the real thing.' Just like actual golf, there will be times when you feel you hit a shot better than the actual end result (and visa versa). So if you hit it flush but your ball ends up in the lumber yard, just smile and move on to the next shot.
Question: Is there only one tee box option?
Answer: No, there are multiple tee box options for every course so players can choose the tee box that fits their game the best. If there is more than one player in the group, all players have to play from the same tee box though.
Question: C'mon man, we're friends! Can't I get a discount or a free round?
Answer: Sorry. This is a (new) business... but 'I love ya, man.'
Question: Can I set a course record from the red tees?
Answer: Sorry, no. To be the best, you have to beat the best! So for a course record to be valid, it must be played from the furthest back tees on the course.
Question: I hit my drive in the Long Drive Contest 30 yards past the winner... Why didn't I win?
Answer: Because your drive ended up 40 yards into the trees or in the water hazard, Mr. Haverkamp. Even though that monster drive you just hit was "a peach, hun," it doesn't count because it wasn't in the fairway. Same rule applies to the 'Distance + Accuracy' and the 'Ladder Drill' Competitions.
Question: What happens if our foursome takes 1 1/2 hours to play a full round? Are we charged for the full 2 hours?
Answer: All left over time in a round automatically rolls into range time for the group. We are not going to rip you off for that half hour you have left. Your group can:
- Use the extra time on our driving range
- Have your own personal 'Closest to the Pin' contest on a hole of your choosing
- Participate in one of our competitions going on that month. (Normal competition fees will apply.)
